You come across them at the start of the road for Lucinasco. Heart of the Impero valley, inland from Oneglia, the land of oil. A strategic position because from here the Damianos can reach their olive groves all over the valley and, especially those on the terraced hill of Lucinasco. Wall by wall, one stone step after another. Damiano means being part of the land, a fighting spirit, an almost aggressive enthusiasm for a life in the countryside that is, on the other hand, slow, tiring and methodical. The company is family run, with Tiziano and Stefania coordinators of a team of players who all work hard. The roots of this effort obviously go back a long way and Tiziano’s father was already a committed, passionate farmer, just like the generations before him. The epoch-making turnaround came in 1998 with organised direct sales to a quality clientele, accustomed to the sweetness and fruity fragrance of PDO Riviera Ligure extra virgin olive oil. Constant growth led to fine-tuning in 2013 of a modern three-phase continuous-cycle oil pressing plant. Aside from cutting-edge decisions, at the base of it all lies commitment to the land, to this beloved countryside in Lucinasco. The Cröse, narrow, hemmed-in terrain, in itself is not easy to farm and the Molle and the Cerixole, where other crops were grown before the historic introduction of the olive grove in the fifteenth century, the Couse, and lastly the Cianello. Where the Ligurian “C” stands for “P” and therefore Pianello: finally somewhere you can at least work slightly on the flat. Effort and passion: the result is, however, extreme quality. How satisfying!
